Texas Heart Institute, Houston, Texas, USA.

Worked as a Clinical Fellow in Cardio-Vascular surgery at Texas Heart Institute, Houston, from Aug. 1997 to Aug. 2000.

Texas heart institute is a world-renowned centre for cardio-vascular surgery. The Institute and its chief surgeon Denton A. Cooley have many ‘firsts’ and ‘inventions’ to their name. Under Dr Cooley and his staff, T.H.I. has set up a huge training program, which boosts of training, refreshing and refining surgeons from all over the world.

Worked in all varied exposures offered by the institute, including cardiac transplant. Acquired vast experience in superior quality of Aortic and vascular surgery, beside high grade coronary and valve surgery.

Excelled in the fellowship program and was awarded the Outstanding Fellow award by Denton Cooley Cardio-vascular surgical society for the years 1998-99 (It is in form of a citation and paid travelling fellowship).

This travelling fellowship allowed me to visit and work in four renowned cardiac centres in the U.S,

1. Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, (July - Aug. 1999), worked with Dr D. Cosgrove, who is famous world wide for mini-invasive valve surgery and a special annuloplasty ring designed by him.
2. Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, (Aug. 1999), worked with Dr. Tomas Selarno, one of the pioneers in the field of beating heart surgery.
3. Mass. General Hospital, Boston. (Mar. 2000) worked with Dr. Atkins on his technique of cardiac surgery by “ fibrillatoy arrest”.
4. Brigham & Women Hospital, Boston. (Mar.-April 2000) worked with Dr. Kohn one of the pioneers of mini invasive cardiac surgery.

Special Training in Aortic Aneurysm (Jun. 2000)
Methodist Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston.

Was fortunate to work for a period of one month with Dr. Joseph Cosseli, who is presently the most respected name for Thoracic and Thoraco-Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms surgeries in the world.

Overseas Appointment and Advanced Training (Australia)
Nov. 2004 -- April 2005
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney Australia.

Worked with Prof. Clifford Hughes ( Chief of Cardiac Surgery) on Aortic Root Replacements as a Staff surgeon at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital , Sydney. Prof Hughes has one of the largest series of Aortic root replacements in the world. RPAH is one of Australia’s most premium, state of art Medical Institute.
